This is a full-time, 40 hour per week position.

THE POSITION:

The primary responsibilities of the Properties Manager will be to oversee general property maintenance and repair at the MSPCA Nevins Farm facility and Hillside Acre Cemetery. This position is responsible for all client relations related to burials in the cemetery as well as the interment of animals. The Properties Manager also oversees and advises the properties team at our Cape Adoption Center and the Northeast Animal Shelter. The position is very hands on – assisting with all property related maintenance directly for Nevins Farm’s buildings and properties.

Some duties include:

• Training and supervising employees of the maintenance department throughout MSPCA locations at Nevins Farm, Cape Cod and the Northeast Animal Shelter
• Ensuring the premises and facilities at Nevins Farm are kept in good condition and planning for any repair/installation activities
• Monitoring budgets and evaluating projects for cost estimates
• Providing physical maintenance throughout the facility including, but not limited to, painting, carpentry, plowing, shoveling snow, general utility work, etc.
• Assist with maintenance of the cemetery including client services, preparation of ceremony, completion of paperwork, preparation of gravesites
• Being available on call to respond to emergencies as they arise at Nevins Farm

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma
• 2 years of work related experience in property maintenance
• 2 years of management experience
• Valid MA driver’s license
• MA hoisting license
• General knowledge of plumbing, electrical repair, mechanical and carpentry repair

• Farm maintenance or farm equipment experience preferred

• General knowledge of heavy farm equipment and light automotive repair
• Knowledge of HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to lift a minimum of 80lbs
