Locally, since 2018, SMP Alabama has been producing modules and polymer products for Mercedes Benz US International (MBUSI) in our state-of-the-art facilities. Parts we produce include:

This positions is responsible for handling and processing metals, using tools and gauges, mastering welding technologies, reading drawings and paint schedules.

Skids & Jigs Operator

The ideal candidate should have the following attributes and/or skills: 

• Strong background in TIG, MIG and stick welding (Certification preferred)
• Brazing and soldering
• Proficiency in skid workshop processes
• Experience with handling and processing metals, using tools and gauges, reading drawings and paint schedules
• Experience operating power tools; drills, buffers, cutters, benders, and rollers

Main Duties

• Doing set ups independently according to the paint schedule
• Repairing enameling holders and paint skids
• Sorting by degree of pollution of the enameling holders
• Cleaning and changing enameling holders based on instructions
• Redevelopment of enameling holders with the craftsman of robot technology
• Storage of enameling holders
• Checking enameling holders according to the guidelines and with gauges
• Doing work tasks of the time representative
