Description
SUMMARY
Supervises work activities of housekeepers/public area attendants and laundry attendants. Inspects guest rooms to ensure cleanliness. Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment. Maintains housekeeping supplies and equipment, takes periodic inventories, screens applicants, trains new employees, and administers appraisals and corrective action.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for daily operations including work assignments, cleanliness and maintenance of room cleaner carts, closets, and equipment. Checks cleanliness of rooms, guest corridors, stairwells, and elevators.
  • Verifies that all employee room/public area assignments have been completed.
  • Consistently provides on-going training and coaching, deliver EDW's when corrective action is needed.
  • Inventories stock to assure that there are sufficient supplies on the guest floors.
  • Reports all maintenance and/or safety issues to Engineering.
  • Promptly and fully informs General Manager on all problems or unusual matters of significance so corrective action can be taken.
  • Maintain SDS and ensure that employees use the cleaning chemicals and supplies safely according to OSHA standards. Make sure that all cleaning chemicals are properly labeled with usage instructions.
  • Responsible for supervision of special cleaning and disposal of biohazard items.
  • Complies with all company, local, state, and national regulations pertaining to cleanliness and sanitation standards, and safety.
  • Any and all other duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • One (1) year certificate from college or technical school; or six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Availability to work weekends.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to position self to move about.
  • The employee frequently is required to move and/or carry equipment up to 20 pounds.
  • The employee frequently is required to operate and use tools and equipment; and communicate with guests, employees, and management.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
