Teaching associates are responsible for assisting in the classroom and carrying out a variety of assignments under the guidance of a strong lead teacher. This position is well suited to a person that is considering becoming a classroom teacher, or pursuing but not yet licensed to teach
Works collaboratively with the classroom teacher to ensure that our students thrive academically, socially and emotionally
Assisting small groups, whole class, or individual students as directed by the classroom teacher
Planning, preparing, and developing various teaching aids
Assisting with preparing, administering, and grading examinations
Participate in regular interim data meetings with grade level team teachers and instructional leadership
Assisting in maintaining an orderly classroom
Uphold our school-wide Student Accountability process
Assisting in conferences with caregivers on progress of students
Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally with students, families, and colleagues
Performing administrative duties as requested by the classroom teacher, Principal or Executive Director
Collaborate with Co-Teacher, Special Educators, ESL Educators, and Instructional Leaders to ensure students receive the necessary targeted interventions and support
Consistently meet our school expectations for professionalism and fulfill required responsibilities in a timely and professional manner
Supervises lunch and recess
All teaching associates are expected to attend collaborative curriculum development meetings, grade-level activities, meetings, professional development, and school-wide functions
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree highly preferred
Experience in education preferred
Effective oral, written communication and presentation skills
Ability to collaborate well with other staff
Enjoy working with and for children in grades K - 5
Citizenship, residency or work visa required
