Job Title: Entry-Level GIS/CAD Technician

Salary: $40,000 - $45,000 w/ full benefits

Contract Length - 12 months w/ opportunity to extend

Location - Gastonia, NC (fully on-site)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Entry-Level GIS/CAD Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with the creation, maintenance, and analysis of geographic information systems (GIS) data and computer-aided design (CAD) drawings. This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in GIS/CAD and gain valuable experience in the field.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in the creation and maintenance of GIS databases, including data entry, digitization, and georeferencing.
2. Generate maps and reports using GIS software for various projects and stakeholders.
3. Conduct spatial analysis and data processing to support project objectives.
4. Assist in the production of CAD drawings and plans using AutoCAD or similar software.
5. Collaborate with project teams to gather data, understand requirements, and deliver accurate GIS/CAD products.
6. Perform quality assurance checks on GIS data and CAD drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness.
7. Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to users of GIS/CAD software.
8. Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in GIS/CAD technology.
9. Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
10. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in geography, geomatics, environmental science, engineering, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of GIS principles, spatial analysis techniques, and cartographic principles.
• Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
• Basic understanding of CAD software, such as AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
• Prior experience or internships in GIS/CAD is a plus but not required.
