The Lead Networking Engineer is the architect of Build-A-Bear's technological future. As the driving force behind all network team projects, this role shapes our organization's technological landscape for success in today's fast-paced digital world.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
    • Handles all project management responsibilities for the network team
    • Communicates project progress and manages timelines
    • Interfaces with stakeholders to determine solutions
  • Systems Development:
    • Initiates and participates in planning and developing networking technologies and management systems
    • Manages scheduling, testing, and implementation of network tools and enhancements
  • Systems Architecture:
    • Reports on new networking technologies and recommends actions
    • Architects technical solutions and develops new networking tools
  • Team Development:
    • Assists in employee reviews by providing performance data
    • Mentors team members and other IT employees
  • Systems Maintenance:
    • Configures and troubleshoots enterprise infrastructure devices
    • Develops automated responses, reports, and alarms
    • Leads the maturation of IT network technologies and processes
    • Manages Change Management process for the Core Network Team
    • Reviews security threats and implements countermeasures
    • Analyzes network changes for connectivity and performance impacts
    • Manages monitoring and alerting in network systems

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 years' experience in Cisco networking and voice technologies, in securing infrastructure systems and in project management
  • Able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Able to work in constrictive locations
  • Able to be on call at all hours of day, as position is part of an on-call rotation (1 week per month).

P referred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technologies
  • 5 years plus experience in Cisco networking and voice technologies, in securing infrastructure systems, in project management and interdepartmental collaboration
  • CompTia Project , CCNA and/or CCNP certifications
  • Cisco Certified Network Admin or Cisco Certified Network Professional - Router and Switch
