Milwaukee College Prep Director - Curriculum and Instruction Milwaukee , Wisconsin Apply Now Milwaukee College Prep (MCP) seeks a passionate and experienced educational leader to serve as our Director of Curriculum and Instruction (C&I). The ideal candidate will be passionate about early language and literacy, possess strong leadership skills, have a deep understanding of the Science of Reading, and have knowledge of K - 8th grade academic systems. The Director of C&I will be responsible for developing, implementing, providing staff training and overseeing comprehensive plans for early literacy and reading readiness programs, including alignment to Act 20 requirements and supporting network priorities. The Director of C&I will ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, manage partnerships, and collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance academic effectiveness across MCP campuses. In addition, the Director of C&I will be responsible for aspects of both long-term and short-term development concerning instruction, curriculum, and coaching within MCPs K - 8 model.Responsibilities:Curriculum Development: Collaborate with school leadership and instructional teams to develop and implement a standards-aligned curriculum that supports student learning and achievement, with emphasis on early language development and literacyInstructional Leadership: Stay abreast in C&I best practices, progress monitor coaching provided to teachers and educational assistants by academic deans; modify and make adjustments to curriculum design and implementation to ensure desired student outcomes by grade level; collaborate with academic deans to develop and implement professional development for teachers and educational assistants to ensure implementation of curriculum; to enhance instructional practices through differentiating instruction; and to meet the diverse needs of all learners.Assessment and Data Analysis: Assist in the collection, analysis, and interpretation of student assessment data to inform instructional decision-making, identify areas for improvement, and monitor student progress over time, specifically regarding early literacy and reading readiness screeners, progress monitoring, and diagnosticsProfessional Development: Plan and facilitate professional development scope and sequence with training sessions for teachers and staff to strengthen their instructional skills, content knowledge, and pedagogical approaches. With particular focus on Act 20 compliance for the 2024 - 2026 school years.Curriculum Mapping and Alignment: Ensure coherence and alignment across grade levels and subject areas by mapping curriculum units, pacing guides, and instructional resources to standards and learning objectives.Other duties as assigned .Qualifications:Master's degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or related fieldA minimum of five years of teaching experience as a licensed teacherFive years of experience in K3rd grade early literacyAt least three years of experience as an instructional coach, preferably with experience coaching at least five teachers.Valid teaching certification/license (or eligibility to obtain certification in Wisconsin).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong understanding of state and federal regulations related to early literacy and reading readiness initiativesKnowledge of best practices in pedagogy, assessment, and differentiated instruction.Experience with data analysis and using assessment data to drive instructional decision-making.Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.Join Milwaukee College Prep and make a difference in the lives of students by leading the development and implementation of a dynamic and engaging curriculum that prepares them for success in school and beyond.#J-18808-Ljbffr
