Job Description
Millan Enterprises is seeking a skilled HVAC Service Technician to join our maintenance team. The primary responsibility of this role is to conduct preventative care and maintenance to all HVAC systems on our rental properties to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills and experience in HVAC inspection, preventative maintenance, coil cleaning, filter changes, pressure readings, charging freon, duct work, and a commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of our occupants. Candidate must be knowledgeable with OSHA and EPA mandates for compliance.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure efficient operation and compliance with safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration units.
  • Inspect HVAC systems and their components (e.g., air ducts, compressors, motors) to identify and address issues proactively.
  • Identify, repair, and report all issues that impact performance and longevity of HVAC systems
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts inventory and service reports.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members to coordinate HVAC preventative maintenance and unit servicing schedules and tasks.
  • Recommend upgrades or replacements for HVAC systems to improve energy efficiency and performance to the Maintenance Manager and/or Director..
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and codes governing HVAC systems and refrigerants.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and best practices in HVAC maintenance and repair.
  • Assist with other maintenance tasks and projects as needed included but not limited to after hours emergency calls.
Education and Training
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a vocational or technical HVAC program preferred.
  • Proven experience as an HVAC technician, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience in servicing and maintaining HVAC systems.
  • Valid HVAC technician license or certification (e.g., EPA 608, HVAC Excellence) preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC equipment, components, and systems, including familiarity with different types of heating and cooling units.
  • Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex HVAC system issues accurately.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety practices and adherence to industry regulations and standards.
  • Valid driver's license
Knowledge and Experience

Minimum of 3 years of HVAC servicing or field experience required. HVAC, electrical, and plumbing certifications preferred. EPA 608/609 certification preferred.
Knowledge of different types of freons / refrigerants, how to store, how to salvage & charge units.
Skills and Abilities

  • Available for after hours and weekend work when required. 
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot all components and controls of residential and commercial HVAC units.
  • Ability to communicate effectively. 
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Comprehensive maintenance knowledge and ability to problem solve. 
  • Ability to drive Millan Enterprise vehicles. (Driver License required)
Working Conditions
Employees could be exposed to rain, snow, and extreme heat or cold. Employees should be able to lift items up to 75lbs, climb ladders, and operate machinery for long lengths of time.
