Philosophy :
Mid-Columbia Center for Living (MCCFL) is a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed service provider for persons with serious mental illness and addictions. MCCFL seeks to become consumer-involved, consumer-engaged and consumer-driven. The employee must embody principles of recovery, consumer-involvement and trauma-informed care as demonstrated in prior work experience, daily attitude and professional behaviors.
Introduction of the Classification :
The Quality Improvement (QI) Coordinator 1 is responsible for the Agency deliverables tracking and completing internal and external reporting data as required by regulatory statues. This position will process data for the Measures and Outcomes Tracking System (MOTS).The QI Coordinator also provides assistance and support to the QI Manager in maintaining the agency’s internal compliance program, preparing for audits, and reporting responsibilities.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of general QI practices and processes common to healthcare or social service agencies; ability to work independently and have exceptional organizational skills; knowledge of OARs and other regulations governing developmental services and behavioral health services; knowledge of MCCFL-based and other community-based services; knowledge of emergency community resources available to victims; knowledge of principles and practices associated with technical and investigative records maintenance.
Skill: Skill in the use of clinical software systems; skill in the use of standard office software; skill in keyboarding.
Ability: Ability to understand and effectively apply the concepts and practices of a trauma-informed philosophy in performing the work. Ability to work within strong professional ethics and rules of confidentiality to provide effective services. Strong ability to conduct in-depth interviews with a variety of individuals, in both formal and informal settings; strong ability to conduct effective full-cycle investigations. Ability to maintain a strong service orientation and to represent the client’s best interests; ability to write and maintain timely and cogent notes, reports and other professional documents; ability to organize and execute work effectively under the pressure of time-sensitive deadlines; ability to work with grace and good humor under pressure and to meet multiple deadlines; ability to work cooperatively with other departments within the Agency and with external providers, and other community stakeholders; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and within Sanctuary Model guidelines; ability to effectively represent Agency interests to community partners and other stakeholders; ability to establish and maintain harmonious work relationships with co-workers at all levels of the organization, consultants, contractors, community partners, and consumers.
Leadership Received :
This position works under the supervisory leadership of the QI Manager. The designated supervision emphasizes independence of method and process while indicating accountability for results.
Leadership Exercised :
This position provides supervisory leadership to the file clerk.
Physical Demands :
While performing the essential duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to use office automation including computer and phone system that requires fine manipulation, grasping, typing and reaching, sometimes for long periods. The employee may be required to sit or stand for several hours at a time, depending on environment and need. This position may occasionally be required to lift up to twenty (20) pounds, and to kneel, reach, bend or squat while in the office or in the community. Field work will require the ability to move over uneven terrain; incumbent must be able to drive to field locations that may be difficult to access. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth of perception, the ability to adjust focus, and distance vision (if driving).
Work Environment :
Work is performed in various settings, including office environment, community settings and other agency stakeholder facilities. The office environment is typically with moderate stimuli and may often result in exposure to increased sensory experiences. Community settings, such as residence, schools, police precincts, respite facilities, hospitals and other public spaces may pose additional risks or discomforts which require safety precautions.
