As a Sr TD Supplier Quality Engineer Manager, you will be at the forefront of defining the strategy, executing plans, and driving excursion prevention programs for new technology First of a Kind (FOAK) Materials to develop suppliers through continuous improvement programs! Your work will play a vital role in anticipating supplier Quality issues and continually crafting the overall Quality of Micron's products for future tech nodes.
Your role is not limited to individual contributions. It's about fostering a sense of camaraderie and shared responsibility. You will work closely with Global Quality, Technology Development, Global Procurement, Operational Central Team (OCT), Operations, Facility, and Product Engineering, collaborating to achieve our shared goals!
You will also significantly impact our supplier relationships. You will support Supplier Performance Reviews, ensure suppliers receive timely and accurate performance feedback based on consistent metrics, and develop a continuous improvement plan.
  • Development Phase - Sourcing, Selection and Qualification Phase
    • Collaborating with the Technology Development team on First of a Kind (FOAK) Materials Quality Readiness, Supplier Quality Programs and Specification definition - instrumental in ensuring the success of New Technodes development.
    • Participate, support, and recommend from a Quality perspective sourcing strategies, including business continuity, benchmarking, new markets, and Quality capability assessment.
    • Lead Quality and technical risk assessment audits for new supplier/ material engagements or qualifications to assess their capability and readiness for High-Volume Manufacturing (HVM).
    • Support cross-fab technology transfer activities regarding New Technology Bill of Materials (BOM) and drive supplier Quality programs to address Critical Concerns About New, Unique, Different, and Difficult materials.
    • Lead cross-functional Category Strategy Team meetings to fan out lessons learned from HVM issues to R&D, align on FOAK materials strategy, ensure closure loop communication, and prevent the recurrence of issues globally.
  • Communication & Presentation
    • Report weekly on the status and progress of all supplier activities.
    • Present and discuss in-depth technical projects with key partners and report Wins to Senior Leaders and Executives
    • Act as an anchor in the US, proactively presenting to Category SQE owners on US suppliers' quality issues and taking action as appropriate for urgent matters.
  • Training & Development
    • Hold self and others accountable for meeting goals and action items from projects, meetings, and conversations.

  • Growth Opportunity:
    • Collaborate with SQEs globally and other team members across different regions to have holistic understanding of supplier landscape and Quality capabilities.
    • Develop expertise in materials criticality for semiconductor manufacturing by close collaboration with the TD team on defining materials development.
  • Desired Experience:
    • Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in engineering discipline
    • At least 10 years' experience in Semiconductor or Gas/ Wet Chem manufacturing.
    • Strong technical background in Gas/ Wet Chem applications and semiconductor manufacturing processes.
    • Proven experience in developing material requirements for advance tech nodes is a plus.
    • Working knowledge of ISO9001/ IATF16949 requirements.
    • Experienced in resolving conflicts and building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
