General Position Overview

Responsible for the leadership efforts that support our world-class manufacturing practices, to ensure a high degree of safety, quality, and efficiency standards. This position works closely with the Safety, Quality, Mechanical Engineering, Operations, and Production Leadership team to help promote and ensure these standards are being met. This position actively participates in continuous improvement activities, audits current processes, identifies opportunities for improvement or process failures, can recommend and implement solutions to improve systems, standard work, and processes to ensure standards are met.

Essential Job Functions

  • Safety:
  • Place the safety of team members in high esteem, educate them in SoundOff Signal safety procedures and ensure procedures are adhered to.
  • Assuring safety procedures are being followed by tracking and reporting safety violations.
  • Quality:
  • Commitment to promote quality products for our customers.
  • Assuring quality control process and procedures are being followed by performing production process audits.
  • Able to inspect finished product as needed to ensure quality standards are being met.
  • Able to complete 8D forms or corrective actions as requested and perform a root cause analysis in a timely manner.
  • Leadership:
  • Able to coach and lead the production excellence team by example to meet customers’ expectations.
  • Able to handle urgent situations quickly but calmly with due diligence and reasonable care.
  • Balancing hands-on involvement with administrative tasks associated with the ProEx position.
  • Able to measure the performance of production specialists to understand where they need to grow, learn, and comply with SoundOff Signal Standards.
  • Disciplinary activities with the production specialist team when required.
  • Measure:
  • Problem sensitivity and solving; ability to tell when something is wrong, or about to go wrong, then gather and analyze data to construct, evaluate, and implement solutions.
  • Able to appropriately meet and report production excellence KPI’s.
  • Communication:
  • Able to communicate well (written, verbal)
  • The ability to communicate in an “Adult to Adult” or in a respectful and professional partnership with their team, other leads and linking pins around the organization.
  • The ability to work as the linking pin between supervisors, team leads, production specialists, support teams, Manager and VP of Operations.
  • Continuous Improvements:
  • Ability to generate ideas that improve production quality and other capabilities.
  • Ability to help manage the Leadership teams Top 5 Projects and ensure progress is being made.
  • Ability to lead production continues improvement meetings and ensure progress is being made.
  • Able to see the need ahead of time and develop or update processes as or before the need arises.
  • Training:
  • Able to develop and update production training processes.
  • Able to train the production specialists and production training team on how to follow our production training process.
  • Performs regular audits to ensure training is consistent across all shifts and training processes are adhered to.
  • Able to track, measure, file and organize all production training processes.
  • Cleanliness:
  • Helps promote the cleanliness of our facility across all areas of the plant.
  • Performs regular cleanliness audits to ensure our cleanliness standards are being met.
  • Reports and tracks cleanliness violations and ensures violations are being fixed.
  • Assist the Production Manager with operational needs as requested.
  • Ability to work the shift schedule, and flex hours early or late with little or no notice when necessary.
  • Able to perform job consistently and without excessive absenteeism or tardiness.
  • Other duties as assigned by the production manager or VP of operations.

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Two (2) to four (4) years mechanical, electrical experience
  • Three (3) years leadership experience.
  • Basic leadership skills (planning, organizing, employee relations, housekeeping)
  • Basics of planning and scheduling as they relate to the production floor.
  • Knowledgeable of specific Line Lead tasks, leadership skills and the ability to train and develop new leadership team members.
  • Intermediate Computer/PC skills.
  • Excel experience strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and with team to meet goals.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Able to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, rotate, and/or reach throughout an entire shift.
  • Must be able to handle and work with small parts.
