Miami County is Hiring an Indian Hills 4-H Camp Lifeguard Near Pleasant Hill, OH

Job Description

Job Description
This position is employed directly by the Miami County Agricultural Society and is being shared as a courtesy on the Board of Miami County Commissioners' page.
The Lifeguard will act as Lifeguard at both pool and pond. They will teach swimming, maintain pool, shower house and pond front. Current lifeguard certification and CPR-PR is required.
This position is seasonal from May 15 - August 6, 2024.
Major Accountabilities
  • Serves as lifeguard during free swims
  • Serves as Kitchen Assistant and provides general camp assistance when not needed at waterfront
  • Shares responsibility for pool and equipment maintenance
  • Reports all incidents/accidents to camp manager immediately
  • Responsible for completing and returning all records to the supervisor
  • Maintains Ohio 4-H and the American Camp Association standards at all times
  • Performs other duties as assigned to promote the successful implementation of camps at Indian Hills 4-H Camp
Requirements
  • Minimum age 16 and Hold current certifications in CPR and first aid for lifeguards (certification class will be offered at no charge)
  • Current lifeguard or swim instructor certification as well as current CPR and first aid for lifeguards from a nationally recognized body
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully handle conflict resolution at all levels with a variety of people, including external customers
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to communicate the written and spoken word with tact, diplomacy, and/or authority when necessary; Ability to work well as a part of a team
  • Well disciplined, able to meet deadlines; Self-starter; able to work under pressure of many priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to meet schedule requirements, including flexible work week, early hours, nights, and weekends
  • Acts with enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, flexibility and self-control
