What will you be doing:

This position will be responsible for assisting with development, and implementation of foundry process improvement projects. In addition to systems and plant design activities, it will be the responsibility of this individual to help coordinate and manage all aspects of the improvement project and will require the integration and coordination of all disciplines and positions.

• Process Improvement Program Development
  • Assist to Develop and Design Plant Improvement Programs
  • Assist Development of alternatives
• Project management of capital improvements at all facilities
  • Aid with Cost Tracking / Timeline Management / Process Improvements
  • Writing detail scopes and request for quotes
  • File organization and retention
• Assist operations with engineering activities
• Assist operations personnel in start-ups
• Drafting – AutoCAD LT and Solidworks
  • Physical Layouts in CAD – Including Plant, Cell, and Equipment Layouts
  • Detail drawings for active projects
  • Modification to electrical, mechanical, and process flow drawings
  • Organization of project drawings, manuals, etc.

Requirements

What will you need to be successful in this position?

• Ability to support a project team comprised of multiple disciplines, skill sets, and organizational levels.
• Assist to develop programs from direction given by operations personnel.
• Mechanical engineering proficiency for design and development of foundry systems
• Able to manage multiple tasks at a time.
• Responsibility and accountability for deadlines and budgets.
• Ability to function as a part the Plant Engineering group and team player.
• Knowledge of utility systems (water, air, etc.)
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills to interact with a wide variety of individuals within MTI.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and AutoCAD LT.
• Proficiency in a 3D CAD system for equipment layout and plant design a plus.

What are the education and experience requirements?

• Associate degree or equivalent
• Mechanical Engineering or Civil (Structural) Degree strongly preferred.
• Zero to three years manufacturing or similar experience.
• Manufacturing program/project management experience.
