Job Summary The Bank Reconciliation Accountant will be an integral part of the Pico Propane and Fuels accounting department in Del Rio, Tx. Duties include oversight of daily bank reconciliation transactions, overseeing and posting high-volume bank transactions, and researching bank statement transaction issues.
This position will also be responsible for posting related accounting entries, follow up on unresolved outstanding open items, and assist and communicate discrepancies with various departments to resolve pending items in a timely manner.
A successful Bank Reconciliation Accountant combines a thorough knowledge of accounting principles with strong interpersonal and communication skills, excellent organizational and time management skills, and has exceptional attention to detail.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities: - Monitor bank transaction activity and ensure cash is adequately posted to the correct general ledger account
- Create and maintain bank export profiles for electronic bank statement loads into different systems
- Create and maintain general ledger variants for account reviews
- Follow-up on accountant and/or business inquiries related to bank transaction issues
- Audit paperwork to ensure compliance with company document management and retention policies
- Assist with month-end closing activities
- Provide administrative support for the accounting department
- Establish effective communication lines with other departments
- Protect organization's values by keeping information confidential

Qualifications Education and Experience: - Bachelor's degree preferred, with a major in accounting, finance or economics
- 1-2 years of relevant job-related experience in finance, banking, or treasury operations; or a combination of experience and education that results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities needed
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
- Experience with financial reporting
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
