JOB SUMMARY
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is responsible for the delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient’s/ resident’s/client’s problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care. The LPN coordinates, provides and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conducts initial interview following referral from ENT physician, orienting, and educating the patients regarding tests to be performed and treatments to be provided.
Operates under supervision of individual practice managers, Allergy coordinator and physicians.
Schedules and conducts allergy testing ordered by physicians.
Schedules ongoing immunotherapy, as required.
Mixes vials for current allergy patients and gives scheduled injections.
Orders allergen supplies for the Allergy Department.
Updates or populates patient chart with relevant medical data; documents in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) any patient information.
Ensure a physician is always on premises during the operation of the Allergy Clinic.
Ensure compliance with all provisions of the Allergy Department : Following AAOA and USP 797 guidelines.
Schedule testing and injections for individual Allergy Department.
Obtain Referrals for Allergy Testing and Immunotherapy.
Conduct percutaneous and intradermal allergy testing.
This position goes to the Anderson office location as well as the Fairfield location.
Administers medications in a safe manner, which is consistent with the organizations policies and procedures and the State of Ohio Nurse Practice Act.
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS (must be non-expired/active unless otherwise stated):
Current LPN licensure in the state of the work place. IV certification may be required for certain specialties.
