MedstarWashington Hospital Center seeking a Senior Director Supply Chain Management.This role administers and directs day to day 24/7 operations of various supplychain operating departments, including Central Inventory/Distribution (MSR),Perioperative Inventory and Cath Lab and EP Inventory Management, Mail RoomServices, Offsite Warehouse Operations, Fleet Management, Shipping andReceiving Operations. Is responsible and accountable for the operational,personnel, and financial activities of these departments. Management ofcontracted services such as product recalls, shredding services, watermanagement and vendor management. Ensures appropriate departmental coordinationto provide efficient, effective, and timely services.
Job duties:
Directs and manages the operational activities of Central Inventory/Distribution (MSR), Perioperative Inventory Management, Cath Lab and EP Inventory Management, Mail Room Services, Offsite Warehouse Operations, Fleet Management, Shipping and Receiving Operations. Coordinates the departments' operations to ensure maximum effectiveness and quality of services. Ensures operating policies and procedures result in effective, efficient, and timely services.
Develops and implements appropriate operating goals and objectives to maximize customer service, efficiency, cost savings, and productivity.
Develops, administers, and monitors operating and capital budgets for assigned departments. Identifies and provides leadership in cost savings initiatives. Manages accounts value inventory .
Develops, implements, and updates systems for the physical plant configuration, materials receiving and distribution workload management. Ensures effective distribution system for supply and linen deliveries to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with customer needs and delivery schedules.
Utilizes Materials Management Information Systems(MMIS) People Soft (PS) to provide comprehensive qualitative and quantitative analysis of departmental functions and services; serves as system resource to establish criteria and methodologies for data gathering and sets-up/maintains all appropriate documentation. Develops and manages the preparation of statistical measurements of operations. Submits ad hoc and periodic reports, with analysis and recommendation(s).
Assumes overall responsibility, directly or through delegation to other management staff, for the personnel management of assigned departments to include, but not limited to: interviewing, hiring, scheduling, counseling, evaluating, promoting, reprimanding, and terminating employees.
Assumes overall responsibility for the training, education, development, and orientation of hospital personnel in assigned departments. Establishes and monitors employee performance standards and directs compliance with such standards.
Formulates, recommends, and implements quality control and quality improvement (QA/QI/PI) initiatives.
Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory and accreditation requirements.
Maintains current knowledge of Supply Chain practices and innovations, industry, technical and business developments through actively maintaining needed certifications and memberships in professional associations and conference participation. Communicates relevant information to the work group.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field of study Required
Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a similar field of study Preferred
5-7 years of progressively more responsible job related experience, as a Manager or Director of Materials Management, preferably in a high volume environment Required
