Healing Care Hospice is a growing, regionally recognized, and highly regarded healthcare provider based in Southern California. We provide skilled and compassionate care to patients suffering from a life-limiting illness, typically in their own homes, SNFs, ALFs, and B&Cs.

The Physician will direct the medical aspects of the Hospice’s patient care program under the supervision of the Medical Director. The candidate would also serve as a consultant and adviser to the Director of Patient Care Services offering their expertise to assess and interpret medical problems.

The Associate Medical Director will serve as a consultant to the Interdisciplinary Group. The physician will also assist as needed with visits, pertaining to Hospice principles and philosophy, and face-to-face visits to determine Hospice patient appropriateness. The candidate must understand the principles of Hospice care.

The physician must demonstrate knowledge and well developed skills in: medicine, oncology, pharmacology; pain and symptom control; psychology of loss; and acceptance of Hospice principles of care.

Requirements:

• Must be a currently active Physician (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO), licensed to practice medicine in the state of California
• Board Certified in Hospice and Palliative Care, or Certified as a Hospice Medical Director
• Maintains controlled substances registration with state and federal authorities
• Must be able to communicate with team members, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team/group
• Approved for admitting privileges and treatment of patients in the hospital of their locality of practice.
