Business Systems Analyst (BSA)

Hybrid - Columbus, OH

The BSA for the Technology HR team will work as part of the larger team to aid the elicitation, analysis, creation, and validation of requirements/user stories and provide support during release events that support our client's commercial customers and colleagues, while helping to ensure consistency with company strategy and goals. This role is an entry level position requiring the individual be curious, driven, well-organized, and to possess strong learning abilities. They must be self-motivated, thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, and complete tasks on agreed schedules. The team will look to this individual to assist in software releases on an on-going basis and help execute the tasks and activities of the broader team.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Elicit, analyze, document, and validate requirements/user stories.
• Participate in all such as Daily Stand Ups, Deliverable Reviews, Status meetings, etc.
• Facilitate meetings as needed.
• Aid in the triage of defects during testing cycles.
• Develop and update documentation to support new/changes to procedures.
• Work with team to respond and answer questions generated by team members and business partners.
• Act as a liaison between business units and development team.
• Participate in production release activities as needed.
• Participates with team to establish target dates and complete activities/artifacts under changing conditions.
• Research and analyze production support issues when needed.
• Provide system support for assigned business unit or assigned application(s).

Job Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

1 year of business or data analysis experience with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent transferable experience through coursework, internships, or work experience in lieu of participation in the Elevate Program.

Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Strong technical writing skills.
• Strong experience with Excel.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with MS Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong business and technology aptitude with a willingness to learn and understand business and software solutions.
• Ability to translate technology into relatable concepts for business partners and stakeholders.
• Highly motivated with strong organizational, analytical, decision making, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build strong partnerships and to work collaboratively with all business and IT areas.
• Ability to effectively handle multiple priorities, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
• High level of professionalism, confidence, and ability to build credibility with team members and business partners.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in a financial or regulated environment is a plus.
• Experience with Visio or other process mapping tools.
• Experience writing User Stories.
• Experience with ServiceNow or Varicent is a plus.
