Shelby County, TN is Hiring a Supervisor PHN - CLINICAL SERVICES (Health Services) Near Memphis, TN

Position Summary

This position is funded by a grant for a duration of time as defined by the grantor.

Works under the general direction of the Administrator to be responsible for directing subordinate employees of a Public Health and Immunization Clinic.

Pay Grade: 55

Salary Commensurate with Experience and Education

This position is eligible for a HIRING BONUS outlined below:

1st payment of $1,500 paid after completion of six (6) months of service,

2nd payment of $1,500 paid after completion of twelve (12) months of service,

3rd payment of $2,000 paid after completion of eighteen (18) months of service.

Minimum Qualifications

100% -

1. Three (3) years of nursing experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND

2. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing; OR

3. One (1) year of nursing experience in a lead or supervisory capacity; AND

4. Master's degree from an accredited college or university in nursing; OR

5. An equivalent combination of related education and/or experience.

6. PROOF OF EDUCATION TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides direct guidance and supervision for employees at assigned Public Health Clinics.

2. Maintains all clinic operations including security with effective patient care, clinic flow (triage), and the delivery of services to clinic clients on a day-to-day basis.

3. Coordinates all resources allocated to the clinic such as extended hours, financial, equipment, and procurements.

4. Performs WIC exams, Immunizations, Well Child exams (EPSDT), and other medical patient care and services to clinic patients daily.

5. Performs ongoing and/or periodic reviews to ensure that all standards, protocols, and guidelines are followed appropriately.

6. Coordinates scheduling of medical staff to include RNs, LPNs, and MAs.

7. Serves as relief nurse for RNs.

8. Coordinates special clinical initiatives.

9. Performs other related duties as required or directed.

KSA's

KSA -

1. Knowledge of supervision and personnel management practices and techniques.

2. Knowledge of the function of the WIC/Immunization Clinic.

3. Knowledge of the principles of nursing and ability to function independently in a clinical setting.

4. Knowledge of social and economic forces affecting the health of people and family and group relationships, and the aims and purposes of local health departments.

5. Ability to coordinate and direct activities of assigned personnel.

6. Ability to coordinate and direct the activities of assigned personnel in the clinic.

7. Ability to collaborate, coordinate, and lead others in the improvement of health care.

8. Ability to prepare composite reports.

9. Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word and Excel.

Special Requirements

1. Must possess a valid Tennessee driver license or secure one upon date of employment.

2. Must have daily access to an operable automobile and meet county requirements for automobile insurance upon the date of employment.

3. Must possess a current State of Tennessee Nursing License.

4. May be required to travel to other Shelby County offices.

5. Must maintain certifications throughout the duration of employment.
