Maxim Healthcare Staffing is Hiring a Dental Assistant Near Miami, FL

The Dental Assistant provides support to the dentist duringpatient care and completes the preparation of the room and dentaltools/equipment. The Dental Assistant complete intake paperwork, update patientrecords, sterilize and organize dental tools, and assist during any dentalprocedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments,sets up instrument trays, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dentalprocedures
  • Takes and records medical and dental histories
  • Exposes dental diagnostic x-rays
  • Makes preliminary impressions for study casts and occlusalregistrations for mounting study casts
  • Assists dentist in management of medical and dentalemergencies
  • Instructs patients in oral hygiene and plaque controlprograms
  • Provides postoperative instructions prescribed by dentist
  • Records treatment information in patient records
  • Schedules appointments, prepare bills, and receives paymentfor dental services, completes insurance forms, and maintains clerical recordsmanually or using the computer
  • Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or its equivalent
  • Current License/Certificate within state of practice
  • One year experience as Dental Assistant preferred
  • Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
  • Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency programwhen applicable
  • Current CPR if applicable
  • TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
  • Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
  • Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training as applicable tojob site
  • Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAArequirements
  • Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and fromappropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors,co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in theEnglish language is required
  • Computer proficiency required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
