Sentara is hiring a Pharmacy Technician for Sentara Obici Hospital, in Suffolk, Virginia!

Sign On Bonus up to $5,000 Offered for qualified candidates!

Status: Full Time (40 hours)

Location: Sentara Obici Hospital, in Suffolk, Virginia

Work hours: Rotating shift and will work any of the following shifts per week below:

• 0630 to 1500

• 0700 to 1530

• 0800 to 16:30

• 10:00 to 21:30

• 14:30 to 23:00

• 20:00 to 07:00 (for coverage needs only)

Will work every other weekend (Sat and Sun)

Will know schedule 3-4 weeks in advance

Job responsibilities:

Prepare medications under the direction of a pharmacist. Measure, mix, count out, label, and record amounts and dosages of medications according to prescription orders. Responsible for managing the drug distribution system and providing technical support in all aspects of the delivery of safe, effective, patient-focused, and cost-efficient drug therapy.

Required qualifications:

• Virginia Pharmacy Technician license REQUIRED

• Pharmacy Technician Registration Number and Pharmacy Technician Certification Board(PTCB) OR NHA Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) REQUIRED

Preferred qualifications:

• 1 year Pharmacy Technician experience preferred

• Prior hospital experience preferred

• Working knowledge of Epic, Drug reference resources (LexiComp and MicroMedex), Microsoft Teams strongly preferred.

Job Summary
