Mason Preparatory School is Hiring a School Psychologist Near Charleston, SC

Mason Preparatory School is seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Psychologist to join our team. As a School Psychologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the mental health and well-being of students. You will work closely with students, parents, and educators to provide counseling, and interventions to promote academic success and emotional development.
Duties:
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the academic and emotional growth of students.
  • Provide counseling and psychotherapy services to students individually or in group settings - Implement evidence-based interventions to address social-emotional issues and behavioral challenges.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of behavior management strategies
  • Conduct crisis intervention and provide support during emergencies or traumatic events.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment by overseeing and helping to implement the school wide Social Emotional Learning programs.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Specialist to review psychoeducational reports and learning plans.
  • Organize and assist with scheduling and implementation of Standardized testing.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree or higher in School Psychology
  • State licensure or certification as a School Psychologist
  • Knowledge of psychological assessment tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with special education laws and regulations
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience working with Pre-K through elementary school aged individuals preferred
  • Proficiency in assessing and creating Functional Behavior Assessments
  • At least 5 years experience in public schools is preferred
