Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Loader Operator for our Malcom Mine in Grinnell, IA. The primary responsibility will be running a front end loader to haul customer trucks. Other heavy equipment operating will be required as needed. This is a day shift role with the hours of operations from 7:00AM- 4:00 PM

Essential Functions

* Perform daily inspection of vehicle

* Observe visual and auditory signals during vehicle operation

* Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refer defects or repairs to supervisor; clean equipment

* Operate front-end loader to haul customer trucks

Minimum Education and Experience

* High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience required.

* Minimum 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment.

* Loader Operator experience preferred.

* Bi-lingual is a plus

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

* Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

* Proficient in MS Office and computer skills

* Must have professional and technical approach

* Proactive in safety

* Works well independently as well as in a team environment

Working conditions

This job will require travel to multiple sites. Larger equipment is typically air conditioned. There will be times when outside assignments that may require periods of work in all weather conditions-heat, cold, wet or dry. May have exposure to dust, sand, gravel, diesel exhaust, etc.
