Job Overview:
Summer 2024 - June 20th through August 9th, 2024 from 8:30 am-4:00 pm, and June 17th, 2024 from 10 am-4 pm for orientation and Open House
Summary: Day Camp @ The JCC nurse is responsible for the care and supervision of all medical services for campers and staff. This care includes looking after ill or injured campers or staff, administering medication, communication with parents and counselors, organization of medical information, medications and first-aid kids as well as keeping records of camper visits using our online system.
Responsibilities:

• Assist in organizing and setting up the nurse's office
• Making sure inventory of supplies and first-aid kids are maintained and fully stocked
• Maintain camper health forms in our online system
• Keep a daily log of camper's visits in our online system
• Accept and store all prescription and over-the-counter medications when necessary
• Assist in providing a staff orientation
• Illness and injury management
• Communication with parents and counselor of campers' illness or injury as needed
• Be a medical resource that would bridge the gap between basic medical knowledge and emergencies.
• Provide first aid for cuts, scrapes, bruises, bee stings, dehydration, sunburn and more as needed.
• Must have the ability make decisions and take initiative under pressure
• Must have good communication skills

Qualifications

• Licenced as a registered nurse in the state of NY
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Experience working with young children and youth
• 21 years of age
• Ability to maintain and administer medications

Salary Range: $8,000 for the summer
