Responsibilities:The Clinical Pharmacy Specialist provides clinical direction and leadership to clinical staff and staff pharmacist. Actively participates in formulary management pharmacotherapy services and drug therapy management.
The decentralized Hematology/Oncology Clinical Specialist is responsible for the delivery and documentation of pharmaceutical care provided to patients throughout the medication use process (selecting, prescribing, dispensing, administration and monitoring of medications). The Clinical Specialist provides clinical direction for the pharmacy and acts as a pharmacy liaison. The pharmacist in this position actively participates in formulary management, pharmacotherapy services, and drug therapy management.This position is critical to the success of Dignity Health St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center and requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Dignity Health.
