Meat/Seafood Clerk

Primary Objective

Responsible for demonstrating a love of food and passion for people that includes incredible Customer Service and performance excellence through department knowledge and technical expertise. As a Meat/Seafood member, the
Meat/Seafood Clerk promotes and delivers a shopping experience focused on providing customers the level of service to which we have publicly committed by providing efficient service through hands-on knowledge of
Meat/Seafood products. The Meat/Seafood clerk adheres to organizational procedures, policies and systems including food quality standards and food safety and sanitation guidelines. The Meat/Seafood Clerk is focused on driving sales through suggestive selling, sampling, recipe ideas and promoting sales events.

• Basic product handling skills Working knowledge of all Meat/Seafood
• Assists with product preparation, packaging, equipment presentation, rotation, replenishment Demonstrates high level of operational execution
• Ensures in-stock position of available product Fast paced and exhibits sense of urgency
• Maintains high cleanliness standards – clean as Working knowledge of Meat/Seafood legal, safety, you go, inclusive of washing, cleaning, sweeping, and sanitation SOP’s mopping Consistent execution of all Meat/Seafood SOP’s

3. Performance Focus – Assists financial results in Sales and Supplies and Shrink Management.

• Accomplished SELLING skills results in additional Communicates code dating issues

Sales Communicates Shrink opportunities

• Suggestive SELLS and Samples short-coded Monitors product quality to reduce Shrink product Utilizes appropriate supplies to reduce costs

4. Planning Focus –

• Plans SELLING product for each scheduled shift Identifies department opportunities during
• Plans work duties appropriately during scheduled scheduled shift and responds accordingly shift to accomplish all assigned tasks

Functional Requirements:

• Interpersonal Skills – Mental - demonstrated success in the areas of energy, initiative, judgment/decision making, effective communications, problem solving, memorization, reading, math
• Product Skills – general knowledge of all product in Meat/Seafood department
• Process Skills – demonstrated understanding of all Meat/Seafood functions
• Analytical Skills – basic understanding of math
• Physical Skills – Frequent - ability to lift/carry 6 to 96 lbs., push/pull 150 to 2000 lbs., turning, standing, reaching, squatting/bending, kneeling, walking. Use of fork lift, slicers, knives, pallet jack, flat bed, box cutter, scales, automatic wrapping machine, semi-automatic wrapper, manual wrapper, ordering machine, racks, compactor
• Physical Skills – Occasional – lifting/carrying more than 96 lbs., kneeling

Mariano’s Fresh Market. Position Description

• Education or Experience – Minimum High school education or currently enrolled
• Environmental – working with a hot surface, extended exposure to colder temperatures – Coolers and Freezers

(-20 to 40 degrees)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $13.75 - $15.00 per hour
