Your next role as a Miracle Maker
Maravai LifeSciences is seeking a #MiracleMaker to join our Purchasing department as a ProcurementIntern. As a Procurement Intern you will work on a project to streamline the Purchase Order (PO) closure process while concurrently reducing financial liabilities by ensuring that only active and necessary POs remain open. The project aims to enhance efficiency, minimize errors, and optimize financial management within the procurement workflow.
Project: This project integrates the optimization of the PO closure process with a strategic focus on reducing financial liabilities associated with open POs. By implementing improved processes, automation, and communication channels, the project seeks to achieve faster closure times, increased accuracy, and reduced unnecessary financial commitments.
Project Milestones: Improvements to streamline and enhance our purchase order closure process across all departments.
Automated Reporting for Enhanced Visibility:
- Implement real-time reporting to increase visibility into open balances and financial liabilities.
- Automated communications will be preset to be sent at intervals to keep stakeholders informed throughout the closure process.
Expectations and Accountability Framework:
- Establishment of clear expectations and parameters for departmental leadership, ensuring heightened accountability in the purchase order closure process.
- Define KPIs, such as number of PO closures and reduces liabilities
Communication Strategy:
- Cross functional collaboration with department financial leaders, operational leaders, budget owners and requestors
- Develop a communication plan to launch the new process
- Clearly define roles and responsibilities for PO closures by type
Project Deliverables:
- Financial liabilities analysis report
- Automation implementation for financial liability reduction
- Communication plan updates with a focus on financial accountability
- Process established to communicate ad execute PO closures for Procurement
- Training materials and sessions
- KPI and metrics dashboard updates
The skills and experience that you will bring:
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate degree, currently in the Junior year or first semester of senior year. Preferred areas of study are in Business Administration, Business Analytics or Finance.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both in a team setting and independently
- Advanced Excel skills, some experience in business analytics, and professional communication skills are vital to the success of this project.
The Summer Internship Program is a 9 week program beginning on June 17, 2024 through August 16, 2024.
The anticipated salary range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. The salary offer will depend on multiple factors which may include the successful candidate's skills, experience and other qualifications, as well as the location of the role.
