Position Information:
The Service Manager is responsible for running an efficient and profitable service department. S/he will operate the department at maximum production, controlling costs, building a loyal clientele, maintaining good employee relationships, setting and obtaining sales and profit objectives, and maintaining service records. The service manager is responsible for ensuring that customers receive a positive experience.Duties and Responsibilities:
- Account for all documents and monitor the quality and accurateness of all paperwork produced.
- Hire, train, motivate, counsel, and monitor the performance of all service department staff.
- Direct and schedule the activities of all department employees.
- Administer merchandising, advertising and promotional activities for the department.
- Maintain technician and staff training in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Provide technical assistance to employees as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, and ensure warranty requirements and proper repair procedures are followed in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct meetings with departmental employees to discuss activities and problems of mutual interest.
- Manage monthly department meetings with employees to discuss training, work place safety, and other department and dealership issues.
- Strive for harmony and teamwork with all other departments.
- Follow manufacturer guidelines on warranty administration, documentation, and record keeping requirements.
- Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company vision, mission and values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.
Qualifications:
- Prior automotive dealership service experience is required
- Three to five years of experience in an auto dealership repair facility.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Professional appearance.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Must hold a valid driver license.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- College or technical degree is preferred.
- Two or more years of supervisory experience.
