Job Description
Makan, an upscale casual Malaysian restaurant downtown, is seeking servers, server assistants, and hostesses to be part of our opening team.
Come work with and learn from chef James Wozniuk, a 3-time Michelin Bib Gourmand awarded chef, in a fun and supportive work environment.
We are seeking individuals with a great attitude, high energy, and a strong work ethic.
Start date is June 6th; opening date is June 14th.
Must have flexible availability pre-opening. After opening we will be closed every Sunday-Monday. No lunches, no brunches.
Responsibilities:
- Provide genuine hospitality and service to guests
- Maintain menu knowledge, general standards, and teamwork
- Server – shape the guest experience from start to finish
- SA – food running, bus tables, barback duties
- Hostess – manage reservations, seat tables, answer phone
Benefits & Compensation:
- 50% dining discount for friends & family
- Server $300-$400/night ($2.13/hour plus tips)
- SA $100-150/night ($2.13/hour plus tips)
- Hostess $18-22/hour based on experience
