Spring Harbor Hospital, located in Westbrook, Maine, is currently seeking to add an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) in its newly formed Intensive Care Unit. This is a 6 bed general adult psychiatric unit, who services patients who may have experienced acute psychiatric illnesses and any other co-occurring disorders. It will provide a low stimulus environment focusing on both safety and symptom stabilization with the goal of transferring the patient to another adult unit when appropriate.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience, great communication skills and the ability to work with a team of dedicated members. This role allows you to provide highly individualized care to our communities most acute psychiatric patients and their symptoms.

Position Summary

• The Registered Nurse provides patient care utilizing the nursing process in inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a graduate of an accredited Nursing program required.
• License/Certifications: Licensed as a registered professional nurse by the Maine State Board of Nursing required.
• Experience: 1 year of psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
• Knowledge of counseling theory, physical and psychological effects of mental illness and substance abuse preferred
• Knowledge of bio-psychosocial assessments required
