Summary

  • Position Summary
    This position offers an opportunity to be an integral member of a collaborative, high-performing team of staff. This role is a key team member who oversees supplies, equipment, and maintenance of a clean environment on R6 and Bean 2. R6 is a dynamic 26-bed neurosurgical / trauma unit and Bean 2 is a 12-bed Total Joint Center. R6/B2 offers a challenging yet rewarding environment where teamwork, excellent communication, a positive attitude, and proactivity are expected. This is a great opportunity for those looking to get into the healthcare field! Together, the compassionate staff members on R6 and B2 work closely to support each other in meeting patients' needs and ensuring the highest standards of healthcare are met.   • The schedule for this role is M-F, 40 hours/week.
  • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
    • Education: High School graduate or GED equivalent preferred.
    • License/Certifications: N/A
    • Experience: N/A
    • Ability to read, write and speak English in order to follow simple oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
    • Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, visitors and Maine Medical Center employees.
    • Knowledge of policies, procedures and organizational structure of the unit, Nursing Services and the Institution.
    • Physical abilities necessary to walk and stand up to 80% of work time and transport patients and equipment.
    • Minimal computer skills for email and patient tracking.
    • Ability to recognize needed changes in supply quota levels due to recent usage.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with Nursing Personnel and staff within other hospital departments.
    • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.
