Pediatric Specialty Care, Dept. of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics and Genetics is looking for a Medical Assistant (MA) / Clinical Team Assistant (CTA) or LPN to join a dynamic and growing practice that provides care to patients from all over the state of Maine and New Hampshire!
For a limited time MaineHealth is offering sign on bonuses for Medical Assistants and CTA's:
- 0-1 years of experience eligible for $4,000 (full time) - MA
- 1 years of experience eligible for $5,000 (full time) - MA
- Up to $2,500 sign on bonus for Clinical Team Assistants

Eligible candidates are hired (offer accepted) into a Full or Part time MA position. Bonus amount prorated for Part time hires, per diem hires are ineligible. Current MaineHealth member employees are ineligible; former MaineHealth Members are ineligible until greater than 6 months separation from employment.
About the Practice:
The Developmental & Behavioral department evaluates, diagnoses, counsels and provides treatment options for children, adolescents and their families with a wide range of developmental and behavioral difficulties. Through strong, collaborative relationships with Maine's network of community-based child development and social services, patients are connected to services and resources to ensure that patient's receive the appropriate support to which they are entitled.
MMP Specialty Care Genetics is able to provide expert evaluation, diagnosis and treatment services to newborns, children and young adults with a known or suspected inherited disease, along with providing care coordination for children with congenital birth defects and metabolic disorders. The Genetics team also manages The Barbara Bush Children's Hospital metabolism program - providing complete metabolic dietitian, genetic counseling, medical management and family support for individuals with genetic metabolism conditions.
Position Summary:
- Complete duties and responsibilities related to patient care in a team-based environment.
- Collaborate with a team of physicians, psychologists, master's level genetic counselors, dietitians and nurses to provide clinical care.
- Promote a smooth flow of patients through the office and help create a calm and supportive atmosphere.

Prior experience wo r king with pediatric patients and/or supporting individuals with autism and developmental disorders is highly preferred. Excellent communication skills, teamwork centered approach, and a passion for learning and teaching others are critical qualities we are looking for in a new addition to our team.
- Clinical Team Assistant: Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Education: Graduate of an accredited vocational program, community college or university in the field of health sciences. Program curriculum must include patient facing experience.
- License/Certifications: Current BLS required or must be obtained within 3 months from start of employment.
- Experience: N/A
- Ability to excel in a team-based care environment.
- Working knowledge of continuous process improvement.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with patients, physicians, supervisors and other staff.
- Ability to organize and accomplish multiple tasks and to have the flexibility to meet changing demands on a daily basis.
- Ability to project a pleasant and professional image even under stressful situations
- Analytical ability required to gather and interpret information necessary to resolve problems.
- Ability to demonstrate compassion and caring in dealing with others
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
