Magnolia Medical Technologies is Hiring a Business Systems Analyst Near Seattle, WA

Magnolia Medical is hiring a Business Systems Analyst for our rapid growth commercial-stage medical device company that is developing solutions to challenges that have long plagued our healthcare system. Our Steripath® Initial Specimen Diversion Device® for blood collection and contamination prevention has created a new standard of care for prevention of false positive blood cultures, the gold standard diagnostic test for sepsis.

Position Summary

The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) is responsible supporting MMT’s systems, data management, and related processes. The BSA is responsible for partnering with business process & data owners, including IT, Operations, Commercial teams and internal stakeholders to ensure best practices are employed for all data management & reporting; for supporting the overall data structure (data-lake, & data-warehousing), system integrations, analytics and reporting, and establishing a source of truth that can efficiently support reporting and dashboard creation, as well as content consumption. This role is critical to ensuring senior leadership is making data driven decisions and driving continuous improvement in analytics & reporting. This is an opportunity to engage with the Senior Leadership Team on shaping the company’s trajectory by enabling more efficient, effective decisions and improving its ability to scale efficiently. The role reports directly to the Director of Revenue Operations and is responsible for supporting data related activities within the company.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Determines operational objectives by studying business functions, gathering information, and evaluating output requirements.
  • Examines current business processes & procedures and recommends updates & incremental improvements
  • Capable of designing new functions, tools, and software solutions, scripting and or coding by analyzing requirements, constructing workflow charts, and writing specifications.
  • Improves systems by studying current system practices and IT modification design.
  • Establish controls to proactively identify issues and inefficiencies to reduce adverse impacts.
  • Supports projects that identify data/reporting process improvements and is able to generate and drive project tasks/deliverables, & milestones through completion.
  • Monitors project progress by tracking activity, resolving problems, and reporting status to key stakeholders
  • Maintains user confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Create and manage dashboards built on top of datasets provided from a data warehouse
  • Thoughtful in requesting modifications to datasets, as needed (i.e. to include new data, requesting additional fields, verifying data integrity).
  • Interface with all key stakeholders to meet data analytics & reporting needs
  • Create and maintain a data dictionary that includes all the company's key KPIs, colloquial definitions, logical definitions, database sources, table sources, and field names.

Required Qualifications & Skillset:

  • Well-developed analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter, ability to work alone and take the initiative to ask questions when expectations and/or priorities are unclear
  • Excellent organizational and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to instruct and mentor a team
  • Great written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to creatively approach and solve situations

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in business and/or information technology
  • 5 years of data analysis experience
  • 3 years of experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and D365 implementations and/or D365 administration
  • Experience and/or certifications in Microsoft technologies such as LCS, PowerBi and Azure DevOps, Excel
  • Experience with Great Plains and/or Microsoft Dynamics GP
  • Experience with Tableau
  • Experience with Salesforce, Salesforce Administrator certification a plus
    • Experience with data cleanup, installation and configuration of AppExchange applications
    • Experience developing simple automation components (Flows, Validation Rules)
  • Experience in HealthCare industry preferred.
  • Programming Experience a plus
    • SQL
    • Python
