Finishing Lead JOS2043 - WI

Starting base hourly wage - $32-35

Summary
This position is responsible for coaching, mentoring, assigning work and quality improvements; ensuring correct product specifications are met before the product leaves the department. Provide hands-on supervisory and technical training for finishing department and mixes complex chemicals. Maintain the quality of our products. Coordinating the efficient flow of customized products through your team, upon receiving a hand-off from the production control, that utilizes all your resources, in an effort to meet quality and time standards. Responsible to know your projects inside and out. Acquaint yourself with the overall aspects of the projects assigned to your work group. This includes dates, material status, specs, quality expectations, and manpower requirements. This person will report directly to the Production Manager.

-Proven hands-on supervisory abilities.

-Familiarity with Makor and Superfici systems are a HUGE Plus!

-Strong knowledge of high-quality finishing and staining methods.

-Adept or willing to learn current and new computer requirements.

-In-house color developmental library and spectrometer is a BIG Plus!
-Assist in the training & development of current & new team members.

-Commitment to maintaining high levels of orderliness, efficiency, quality and training.

-Familiarity with finishing equipment and products (pumps, guns, polyurethanes, UV finishes, varnish, stains).

-Complete various skill level tasks in a given time period, with members of your team, adjusting for changing priorities
-Strong skills of observation and planning, to maintain orderly and equally distributed workloads for each of your employees.
-Strong one-on-one and group communications skills with the ability to motivate, counsel, and direct those within their work group
-Work closely with production manager/supervisor to ensure customer expectations are consistently and completely attained. Ability to work directly with outside vendors to address finishing issues, look at new products to ensure we are using the best product available for our customer needs.
Responsibilities

-Relay information from the Project Managers or Production Meetings to those within your group that will need the information.
-Understands correct machine set ups and correct tool usage for a wide variety of woodworking equipment.

-Make educated decisions for your group in the absence of managers.

-Organize jobs according to the current production schedule.

-Monitor jobs on the shop floor to insure timely completion.
-Develop solutions to problems in a timely manner.
-Head of Quality Control for your assigned group.

-Identify and implement process improvements.

-Provide good leadership to all employees.
-Ability to read blueprints / drawings.
