About this team
The Director of Cloud Platform engineering's primary responsibility is efficiency and governance of the adoption of public cloud technologies. You develop seamless onboarding processes, provide scalable shared services, security guardrails and governance structure with the objective of streamlining and facilitating the life of over 100 delivery teams.
A day in the life:
Primary responsibilities:
  • You create the vision, strategy, and lead the implementation of cloud-based services and frameworks, based on engineering and architecture needs for compute, data, networking and security, across all our cloud service providers (AWS, Azure...) globally.
  • You lead and manage multiple product engineering teams and provide direction for leaders across program management, solution architecture, engineering, devops, and quality assurance.
  • You are a strong people leader, inspiring, motivating, delegating and coaching teams to be high-performing and passionate about their products and services.
  • You are a great collaborator - you will proactively build trusting relationships across the organization, including functional partners and regional teams.
  • You help the technology senior leadership team and your business partners understand the key benefits and impacts as it relates to Cloud platforms, including secret management, enterprise Kubernetes, network optimization, cloud assets lifecycle, and FinOps.
  • You partner with technology executives across lululemon to evangelize cloud technologies, including a cohesive product strategy, community of practices, hackathons, annual summit, and upskill session for all technologies employees.
  • Above all, you are a continuous innovator, acting with strong bias towards action and a constant champion for enterprise cloud needs.
As a seasoned people leader, you can expect the following deliverables:
Leadership:
  • Develop and nurture relationships with senior leadership and cross-functional teams across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, diversity, and equity as per our organization's IDEA commitment.
  • Lead, support, govern and in partnership with delivery teams during the transition of legacy architecture to modern cloud centric platforms.
  • Cloud first engineering mindset
  • Lead multiple multidisciplinary (DevOps) product configuration and engineering teams.
Product roadmap:
  • Lead in developing and delivering a comprehensive portfolio of cloud platforms in partnership with 100 engineering delivery teams across our technology division.
  • Ensure feedback loops between platform engineering teams and business technology teams, through community of practices and COE, leveraging data insights and customer surveys.
  • Manage oversight of complex operations processes based on a combination of vendors, custom solutions, and internal resources.
  • Ensure enterprise cloud budget targets are met, including cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with the security/engineering/operation and architecture teams on enabling shared critical infrastructure services globally.
  • Drive coordination, consensus, and execution to mitigate cyber risk issues and emerging threats in such a dynamic environment.
Innovation & Improvements:
  • Work with business technology teams to understand needs. feedback and define new product roadmap.
  • Develop clear product KPIs based on key insights and mature capabilities with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Develop metrics to measure success and ensure ability for on-going monitoring of post-launch results through analysis and reporting.
Qualifications
  • 10 years of related work experience, with direct work experience across a variety of Cloud Infrastructure disciplines, including creating and managing community of practices in large technology organizations (1,000 people).
  • 8 years of relevant people management experience.
  • Experience working through various Cloud Infrastructure system architectures (preference for those with specifically AWS/Azure, Infrastructure as Code/CI/CD, Networking, operating systems) to influence solution to solve customer problems.
  • Role model and champion modern ways-of-working such as Agile, DevOps and related practices, actively participate in an architecture community.
  • Strong communication and "storytelling" skills - ability to articulate a vision or concept in simple terms to a broad audience at every level.

Compensation and Benefits Package
lululemon's compensation offerings are grounded in a pay-for-performance philosophy that recognizes exceptional individual and team performance. The typical hiring range for this position is from $190,400 - $249,900annually; the base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity. As part of our total rewards offering, permanent employees in this position may be eligible for our competitive annual bonus program and equity offerings, subject to program eligibility requirements.

This role is classified as Hybrid under our SSC Workplace Policy:

In-person collaboration is important, and much of the role can be performed remotely. Work is performed onsite at least 3 days per week.
