Key Requirements and Technology Experience:
- Develops, enhances, debugs, supports, maintains and tests software applications that support business units or supporting functions.
- Special focus/expertise on User Interface (UI) technologies.
- Application program solutions may involve diverse development platforms, software, hardware, technologies and tools.
- Participates in the design, development and implementation of complex applications, often using new technologies.
- May provide technical direction and system architecture for individual initiatives.
- Serves as a fully seasoned/proficient technical resource.
- Will not have direct reports but may lead projects and direct activities of a team related to special initiatives or operations.
- May collaborate with external programmers to coordinate delivery of software application.
- Routine accountability is for technical knowledge and capabilities.
- Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned engineers & developers.
- Experience with the development models such as Agile and SDLC. Able to work in constantly changing environment.
- Deep understanding of Object-Oriented OO design is a must.
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices.
- Understanding of software skills and development lifecycle from Business Analysis, to design, development, maintenance and improvement.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to develop robust, secure software
- Experience with GIT distributed version control, branching/merge strategies, and Bitbucket
- A solid understanding of Front-end design patterns and principals: Responsive Web Design, MVC, BEM, OOCSS, Event Delegation, Modules, Singletons,Prototypes, Mixins, Publish/Subscribe, XHR, Server-side vs client-side, etc.
- A solid understanding of AJAX and how to fetch data from a service endpoint that can be used to render dynamic web content
- A solid understanding of semantic HTML and CSS3 (SASS), including layouts, responsive design, and accessibility (WCAG 2.1)
- Experience with Front End and accessibility tools: Devtools, Web Fiddler, Visual Studio (or preferred IDE), JAWS, Voiceover, Talkback
- Comfortable reviewing a UX wireframe and building corresponding UI efficiently; Works with UX partners and identifies design risks proactively to deliver applications for high-traffic websites
- Familiarity with performance optimization tools (i.e. lighthouse) and techniquess (image compression, lazy loading, bundling, sprites, etc.)
- Familiarity with Node, NVM and NPM
- Experience with Vanilla JS (ES6) and modern Javascript frameworks and libraries (examples - Vue, React, Polymer, Angular, Handlebars, JQuery, and others).
- Knowledge of test driven development and modern testing frameworks
- Experience with monitoring toolset like Splunk, Dynatrace
- 3 years of web and rest services application programming experience J2EE/Java.
- Working knowledge of software frameworks such as Struts, Spring, Spring MVC, Groovy, Scala, Open Source components, Rest API etc.
