Job Summary:
The primary purpose of this role is to execute tasks relating to product quality improvement projects and investigations. This includes responsibility for utilizing and interfacing with Lowe's vendors, cross-functional departments internal to Lowe's, nationally recognized testing laboratories, and industry groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Assists in identifying key opportunities for product and process quality improvements in the area of Vendor Performance.
Drives corrective and preventive actions to ensure customer satisfaction. Applies project and process management on a wide variety of engineering, quality and merchandising projects.
Works on projects that include the evaluation of product designs, customer requirements and coordinating the development of product specifications as defined by quality, merchandising and management.
Interfaces with applicable agencies, consultants, defined consumer groups and management. Monitors and communicates to quality management all project progress and conformance with established goals and objectives.
Prepares written technical and verbal reports to management, as well as to vendors as required. Collaborates directly with Merchandising, Lowe’s Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, Product Development, Marketing and Store Operations in order to complete tasks and drive product quality improvements.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Engineering or other technical sciences
3 years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing or retail environment
Strong understanding of quality tools such as Kaizen, DMAIC, Lean Manufacturing, knowledgeable of ISO9001 and/or TS16949 requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
American Society for Quality Certified Quality Auditor
Certified Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean/Six Sigma Black Belt
Retail Operations experience
