What Does a Medical Assistant? As a Medical Assistant with Lower Keys Medical Center, you're primarily responsible for:

• Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs (i.e., pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and records information on patients' charts.
• Schedules patients for appointments and referrals.
• Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients.
• Performs multiple administrative duties as needed.
• Performs a variety of tasks.
• Typically reports to supervisor or manager.

Which Qualifications Do You Need? In order to set you up for success, you need the basics of...

• Requires a high school diploma and medical assistant certificate
• BLS certification required.
• 1 year of experience in healthcare preferred.
• Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
