Description

Overview:
The Industrial Hygiene and Safety (IHS) Professional is responsible for developing, recommending, and implementing programs, policies, and procedures associated with the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of potential health and safety hazards within our organization. This role may involve providing daily industrial hygiene and safety support to programmatic or facility organizations, or managing and administering institutional health and safety programs or services.

Responsibilities:
- Develop, recommend, and implement programs, policies, and procedures related to industrial hygiene and safety.
- Provide daily industrial hygiene and safety support to programmatic or facility organizations.
- Manage and administer one or more institutional health and safety programs or services.
- Develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards based on professional principles and theories.
- Provide creative solutions to unique or complex issues, ensuring the success of future concepts, products, or technologies.
- Create formal networks involving coordination among groups and key decision-makers.
- Regularly interact with internal and external resources to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Work under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range targets.
- Self-initiate assignments and demonstrate virtually self-supervisory capabilities.
- Use independent judgment to determine the course of action to accomplish objectives.
- Utilize a wide latitude in methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Qualifications


- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Minimum of twelve years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Postgraduate coursework may be expected at this level.
- Broad expertise or unique knowledge in industrial hygiene and safety.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to develop creative solutions.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively under consultative direction and independently.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Experience in managing health and safety programs is desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute to the development of objectives and principles.
- Viewed as an expert in the field within the organization.
