Lonza Pharma & Biotech has an excellent opportunity for a Head of Quality Control at their Bend, Oregon location.
Key Responsibilities:

• Reports to the Director of Quality
• Manages laboratory resources
• Understands all GMP laboratory systems pertaining to analytical chemistry
• Hosts auditors in GMP laboratory
• Ensures laboratory staff receive training and follow GMP procedures
• Strong microbiological knowledge
• Reviews and approves GMP data
• Responsible for instrument qualification
• Responsible for execution and on-time delivery of accurate analytical results for internal and external clients
• Guides staff through scientific challenges
• Makes staffing decisions
• Conducts personnel reviews
• Attends Management meetings as requested
• Attends Material Review Board meetings
• Evaluates current compendia and makes corresponding changes in BTPs

Key Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in science (minimum)
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to engage, motivate, and provide feedback to grow and develop successful teams
• Ability to create a highly collaborative and inclusive environment necessary for a team to be effective
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and understands the value of building relationships based on trust
• Effective use of hard and soft skills in all aspects of management including conflict resolution, team building, decision making, etc.
