Position Objective

Reporting to the Digital Marketing Director, the Social Media & Content Manager will administer the NAVC’s social media accounts. This position will be responsible for creating original content, managing posts and responding to online outreach.

The social media manager is expected to be up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. The person who fills this role must have excellent communication skills and be able to manage our company image online. This role will handle our social media presence, ensuring high levels of brand and customer engagement.

The person who fills this role should take an active role in the fun, interactive environment of NAVC and be passionate about the role social media plays in NAVC’s success, and the success of its brands.

Position Responsibilities

  • Lead all owned and future NAVC social media platforms, including (but not limited to): Instagram, Twitter (X), TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Develop, curate, and oversee content on various social media channels, effectively reaching and engaging with our target audience
  • Monitor trends in the animal health industry to develop content that supports our mission
  • Build brand awareness and foster cross-promotion of NAVC brand marketing initiatives
  • Manage the overall NAVC social media editorial content calendar and regular publishing schedules
  • Utilize software tools to manage content publishing and community management across owned social assets
  • Maintain a consistent, brand-appropriate voice across social channels that is consistent with the overall brand tone of voice
  • Monitor, listen and actively engage/respond to online comments and dialogue directed at the NAVC brands
  • Follow brand guidelines and creative toolkits when creating unique content on social media platforms
  • Stay informed on social media and content trends to implement best practices
  • Assist the Digital Marketing Director in managing NAVC’s influencer marketing program
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams as the social media subject matter expert
  • Analyze and translate performance data into recommendations for improving our social media strategies
  • Effectively explain the “why” behind metrics and analytics to other members of the marketing team as well as senior leadership

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in marketing, business, communications or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience working with social media in a business environment, including (but not limited to) experience with the following platforms: Instagram, Twitter (X), TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Hands-on experience with content creation and content management, including using tools such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Canva)
  • Superb people skills with a proven ability to interact with colleagues in cross-functional teams
  • Excellent organizational skills including a demonstrated ability to efficiently plan, organize and manage projects with limited direct supervision
  • Independent and creative thinker who can bring new ideas and perspectives to existing clients and/or products
  • Superior customer service skills and support for a variety of internal and external clients
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills, with attention to detail
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and needs of the organization
