This position provides daily oversight and coordination of the Volunteer Departments. This includes, but is not limited to, clerical support for the departments and ongoing recruitment and communication. Serves as the point person for incoming complaints and works in coordination with Patient Experience Team.

• Coordinates daily operations for volunteer departments.
• In cooperation with departments throughout the hospital, identifies key needs and establishes volunteer positions and/or programs to address these needs.
• Maintains a database of all volunteers and produces appropriate reports as needed.
• Ensures appropriate documentation of student and volunteer hours.
• Coordinates volunteer events, training and annual competency requirements.
• Hires and retains volunteers using screening process. Uses rewards and recognition techniques to retain current volunteers.
• Identifies opportunities for volunteer recognition and coordinates appropriately.
• Assesses volunteer satisfaction on a continual basis and adjusts approaches to maximize volunteers, identifying any training that is needed.
• Manages the application process in a timely manner. Interviews and selects appropriate volunteers to join the team.
• Meets with volunteers regularly and provides volunteers with ongoing feedback.
• Orients new volunteers and students to the hospital as appropriate.
• Provides administrative support to Volunteers Department

Qualifications/Requirements

• Basic professional knowledge
• Experience: 3-5 years
• Basic computer skills; Microsoft Office Suite
