Salary range is $65k to $115k, with a midpoint of $85k. New hires typically receive between minimum and midpoint, however, we may go slightly higher based on experience, internal equity and market.

Summary

The Network and Information Systems Support Engineer is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This includes system analysis, upgrades, and providing technical and administrative support. This position reports to the VP & IT Security Officer and will work closely with other IT team members and Bank staff to ensure the reliability, security, and efficiency of the Bank’s network, applications, and other systems and platforms.

Essential Job Functions

  • Provides support to all IT related networks and infrastructure, including IP networks and phone systems.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains system hardware, distributed network equipment, security systems, and other Information Technology infrastructure in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
  • Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of the Bank’s network infrastructure to ensure equipment and software is working appropriately and effectively.
  • Works with third party vendors and internal staff to resolve application and hardware issues.
  • Researches and recommends infrastructure technologies to meet business needs and priorities; participates in evaluations of technology and sourcing with executive leadership; assesses emerging technologies; provides key input on technology investments regarding price, performance, and capabilities.
  • Effectively integrates solutions into the existing network; consults on key projects; helps deploy solutions that meet business needs and technical requirements.
  • Performs regularly scheduled backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.
  • Coordinates with department staff, other Bank staff, and outside agencies to facilitate a variety of projects that involve project scheduling, budget calculation, personnel allocation, environmental testing and troubleshooting.
  • Develops and maintains appropriate documentation, including configuration and design documentation as well as maintenance, audit, and change management records.
  • Maintains broad knowledge of best practices and trends in the field and of bank regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Adheres to and complies with all applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and guidance, including Bank Secrecy Act, USA PATRIOT Act, GLBA, FDIC, FFIEC, FTC, etc.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required

  • Thorough knowledge of IT systems hardware and infrastructure including Cisco routers and switches, VPN (Fortinet), VMware, Veeam backup software, ESX, SDWAN (Edge routers), Metro Ethernet, Cloud Firewall (Fortinet), Windows Server (multiple OS), Linux Servers, DarkTrace (IDS), ATMs (NCR).
  • Thorough knowledge of software and services including BigFix (patch management), Zix (Email encryption), Ironport (Email filtering), Zoom phone system, Crowdstrike (AV/AntiMalware), CCTV (various systems), Nexpose (vulnerability management), M365/Azure.
  • Thorough knowledge of server-based applications including LaserPro, CreditQuest, Calyx, DCI (iCore/Teller), Qohash, FTP, web-based Access Management software.
  • Knowledge of techniques and strategies for dissemination of complex and/or technical written and verbal information to a wide range of individuals.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and vendor roadmaps; ability to balance costs against benefits.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively in a variety of settings, formats, and audiences, utilizing well developed communication skills, both written and oral, with appropriate use of business English including but not limited to correct grammar, vocabulary, letter composition, editing, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Ability to work independently with self-direction and minimal oversight; maintain sustained attention to detail and work under timeline pressures; prioritize and assign workloads; manage multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Excellent analytical and organizational skills are essential. Must possess ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • Must routinely and regularly maintain confidentiality and discretion through all forms of communication.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 years’ relevant experience in network design, implementation, administration and operation.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to remain in a stationary position and operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a multi-line telephone, copy machine, scanner, fax, and computer printer. The employee needs to frequently communicate with internal and external contacts and move about inside the office to access filing cabinets, office machinery, etc. Occasionally needs to position self to maintain computers, including under the desks and server closet. Constant use of both hands in reaching/handling/grasping/ keyboarding and other fine motor skills manipulation while performing duties operating on computers. Occasional heavy work includes exerting 100 pounds of force occasionally with the assistance of others or mechanical devices and/or 50 pounds frequently and/or 25 pounds constantly to move objects. Occasionally ascends/descends stairs and ladders while maintaining balance. Constant use of all senses including feeling/talking/hearing/seeing while performing duties and while communicating with co-workers, general public, and completing all tasks as assigned. Must be able to distinguish color and maintain long-term and short-term memory. May work outside, in remote locations or in noisy work area. Work Environment

  • Climate controlled business office environment.
  • Ability to work in artificial light for extended periods of time.
  • Noise level is usually moderate.
  • Work involves being able to concentrate on the matter at hand, under sometimes distracting work conditions and frequent interruptions during the day.
  • This is a full-time, in-person position: Monday through Friday; 40 hours per week.
  • Work requires regular attendance, punctuality, and adherence to agreed-upon schedule with willingness to work a flexible and/or rotating schedule and/or extended hours, as needed.

Travel Required

  • Minimal (10%-20%) local, non-overnight travel
