LC State invites applications for the position of Boise Correctional Program Coordinator/Instructor

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $55,000

Degree Required:

• Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university in general education content area or content area for one of LC State's degree offerings

Required Qualifications:

• Two year's experience in education administration or instruction
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

• Earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution
• Experience working with incarcerated individuals
• Familiarity with financial aid and college admissions

Responsibilities:

The Correctional Program Coordinator/Instructor falls under the Adult Learning programs at LC State. This position will support LC State's adult learning initiatives primarily focusing on correctional education programs at the Boise correctional facility. This position will:

• Interface with correctional department and LC State staff to ensure institutional residents are advised on financial aid application, admission, and enrollment procedures.
• Serve as the primary liaison between LC State and the local correctional facility, to include marketing LC State's programs to residents and correctional intuition education managers.
• Work with faculty to ensure courses are conducted as scheduled and that residents are properly advised.
• Ensure textbooks and other instructional materials and resources are available to the students in these facilities.
• Instruct classes at correctional institutions and for other LC State Programs.

This position will be ½ time instruction and ½ time corrections education facilitation, as well as support for adult learning initiatives. In addition to instructional duties at the correctional institution, this position may expect to spend 1 to 2 days per week in program coordination at the facility.
