Heidelberg Materials is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Beaumont, TX

Heidelberg Materials is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our team in Canby, Oregon. As an Equipment Operator, you will load trucks, feed plants and stockpile to assure consistent and ongoing production of materials. You will also provide routine maintenance of processing plants and conveyance systems. Heidelberg Materials provides the materials to build our future. Our future is sustainable.   • Operate mobile equipment on plant property (excavator, dozer, loader, haul truck, etc.)
  • Maintain cleanliness of plant work areas
  • Assist with plant tasks including lubrication, maintenance, repairs
  • Transport materials to and from storage and shop areas
  • Utilize equipment in a manner to maximize productivity and minimize wear and down time
  • Report mechanical or maintenance issues with equipment
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety and environmental regulations, and with company policies and procedures and rules/laws specified by site, city, state, federal
  • Perform daily equipment inspections, as well as identify and assist in correcting unsafe condition
Essential Experience and Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience using (or ability to learn) plant mobile equipment
  • Desire to work cooperatively as part of a productive team
  • Ability to work safely, and independently without constant supervision and be a team player
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of learning through on-the-job training
  • Good attendance and punctuality a must.
  • Display or have some mechanical aptitude for minor preventative maintenance and pre-shift inspections.
  • Report any deviations from the norm that might impact product quality or processing efficiencies.
  • Ability to work in year-round weather conditions, extremes of hot and cold weather.
  • Must have the physical ability to: climb, stoop, bend, squat, lift (up to 75 lbs.), sit and stand for extended periods of time, kneel, climb ladders, and walk on varied terrain
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule with flexible hours, hours vary; overtime work, weekends, and nights may be required.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
  • Previous experience in open pit mining operations and aggregate products is an asset
What We Have to Offer:
  • $27.94 / hour (Note: Pay and benefits contingent upon current Local No. 701 AFL-CIO)
  • PTO: 88 hours
  • Paid sick time in accordance with state law
  • 9 paid holidays.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen, and background check.
Work Environment:
  • Role operations primarily in environments where the conditions include inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level.
