In collaboration with Unity Center leadership, Crisis Intervention and Social Work teams, we’ll rely on you to coordinate details to ensure an effective patient discharge . Receives and coordinates all inquiry and hospital-based referrals for Unity Center for Behavioral Health. Coordinates and helps prioritize admission to Unity Center programs (PES, Adult Inpatient and Child and Adolescent Inpatient). Maintains on-going communication with Unity Center unit leadership and house supervisor regarding bed availability, bed placement, and service capacities. Maintains accurate records of referral and admission documentation. Performs health plan eligibility, benefits, initial authorization, and concurrent insurance reviews.
Education:
BS/BA in a Behavioral Science field or equivalent experience, required. Preferred: Master’s degree in Behavioral Health field with Oregon licensure.
Experience:
Minimum of three years’ experience in a psychiatric setting. Preferred experience working with adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations with either intake, triage, ED or inpatient experience.
Skills:
Demonstrated computer skills including word processing and database.
Demonstrated professional behavior and relationships with ability to maintain confidentiality within the work setting.
Ability to foster high morale among staff.
Knowledge of crisis assessment/intervention; medical necessity, insurance verification.
Communicates professionalism by appearance, verbal communication skills, actions and self-development.
Exercises judgment and discretion.
Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic health systems applicable to job functions.
