As a Willamette View Campus Safety & Security Officer, you'll be accountable for the safety and security of the entire Willamette View (WV) community, including employees, residents, visitors, and all WV resources within your assigned area. Operating with minimal supervision but under management guidance, you're expected to align your actions with WV's mission, goals, plans, policies, and distinctive culture.

In this position, you're responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of Willamette View residents, staff, vendors, and visitors. Your duties include foot and vehicle patrols of the campus, checking and securing gates, windows, and doors, and providing safety escorts as needed. Enforcement of Willamette View policies, such as smoking restrictions and weapons regulations, is also part of your role. You have the authority to issue trespass notifications and contact law enforcement when necessary. In the event of emergencies, you'll liaise with local authorities and seek guidance from supervisors or on-call administrators. Documenting incidents, conducting inspections, and maintaining equipment functionality are crucial aspects of your responsibilities. Additionally, you'll record daily events, create detailed reports for serious incidents, and adhere to required trainings and certifications. Maintaining personal hygiene and a clean uniform is essential, and you may be assigned other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Demonstrate some additional training, education and/or military experience beyond high school.
• Experience in Law Enforcement, security, emergency management or related experience, particularly in a healthcare setting.
• Demonstrated success in dealing with challenging individuals, particularly people in crisis or who have cognitive issues.
• Multilingual and/or Bilingual proficiency through speaking, writing or signing. Specifically Spanish, Vietnamese Chinese and Russian.
• Maintain a Valid Driver's License with a driving record that demonstrates safe habits and respect for the law.
• Have and maintain DPSST Unarmed Security Professional Certification.
• First Aid/CPR/AED certified or ability to complete within 6 months of hire.
