Position Overview
Starting Salary Range is $60,398 -$69,460. The initial salary offer is commensurate with education and related work experience.
Under the supervision of the Associate Vice President of Student Success and Belonging, the Student Resource and Advocacy Center (SRAC) Manager designs, implements, and coordinates the daily operations and overall development of Lee College's basic needs hub, the Student Resource and Advocacy Center. The SRAC Manager oversees the daily operations of the SRAC, including the oversight for all employees, provision of wrap-around basic needs supports for students, and collaborations with strategic community partners.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manages operations to support holistic student basic needs including transportation, childcare, emergency aid, benefits screening, and food assistance.
  • In partnership with the Houston Food Bank, develops and operates an on-campus walk-in market providing food, clothing, and toiletries to students.
  • Develops and maintain strategic partnerships with on- and off-campus stakeholders that support a comprehensive, multidisciplinary, and integrated approach to basic needs.
  • Oversee the recruiting, hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of departmental staff, including student assistants
  • Assess effectiveness of departmental services and programs by developing, implementing, collecting, and examining surveys, focus groups, and other data analyses.
  • Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with staff, faculty, division chairs, administrators, and student service programs and offices to develop, grow, and disseminate information on basic needs services.
  • Establish and put into effect policies and procedures to cultivate and maintain a student centered and respectful learning and working environment for both students and employees.
  • Supervise and develop departmental professional development opportunities and trainings to improve individual capacity and department performance.
  • Develop and enhance employee assets and strengths through professional experiences.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to enhance departmental promotion and awareness through fliers, brochures, other publications, social media, and internet marketing.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service by responding to all inquiries from students, faculty, staff, administration, and outside parties.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations and services of the Student Resource and Advocacy Center to increase utilization.
  • Manage the referral of students to other support services as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Bachelor's (or higher) degree
  • Two (2) years of related work experience in higher education support services setting
  • Able to collaborate and work effectively in departmental and interdepartmental teams
  • Excellent computer skills with the Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word and Excel
  • Able to develop and maintain reports related to SRAC usage and success
  • Able to work well with others
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be available to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Must be able to travel in and around the service area
