Meet the team:
The Simulation Test team is part of the Systems Engineering, Integration & Test organization, and is responsible for driving the strategy and framework for simulation-based testing. This includes implementing and maintaining tests for the purpose of validating system requirements and gating software releases. A Test Engineer on the Simulation Test team will create, maintain and execute simulation tests and help drive iterative improvements in the Simulation Test framework, tooling, and overarching strategy. We ensure the autonomy system is working as expected, communicate problem reports back to the development teams, and help to develop and promote the Latitude safety culture.
What you'll do:
  • Create and execute testing of the autonomy stack in a simulated environment
  • Collaborate with the Simulation Test and Engineering teams to develop and iterate on simulation capabilities and features
  • Work with engineers and developers from all disciplines to plan and execute tests around targeted areas, provide continuous feedback and deliver detailed test analysis reports
  • Develop, improve and maintain simulation test documentation and processes
  • Support the development of system requirements and performance metrics
  • Design, create and maintain simulation scenarios and data sets to support the validation of system requirements, software releases and feature development
  • Support nightly and release-related triage of simulation failures and test maintenance
What you'll need to succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 2 years of relevant experience, Master's degree, or PhD
  • Must have 2 years of experience testing complex systems, robotics and/or autonomous vehicles
  • Experience executing on software release gating strategies
  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering principles
  • Familiarity with working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience executing on Validation Plans
  • Excellent communication skills
Nice to have:
  • Experience validating complex systems in a simulated environment
  • Experience programming in Python or similar
  • Experience with Jira or similar ticketing systems
  • Comfortability using Jama or similar requirements management systems

The expected base salary range for this full-time position in California is $126,960 - $174,570 USD. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Latitude employees are also eligible to participate in Latitude's annual bonus programs, equity compensation, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.
Candidates for positions with Latitude AI must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is available for this position.
