Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) is announcing recruitment for a student-centered position in Enrollment Services. The Enrollment Services Specialist II works with students and perform a full range of duties with general guidelines which are specialized and performs more complex assignments requiring advanced skill in Enrollment Services. This position will work with many different student groups to provide assistance and guidance with general institutional information, ensure operational efficiency and exemplary student service as well as help facilitate admission, records, and registration processes.
LTCC is proud to offer a variety of degree and certification programs to students. Enrollment Services is a student's first stop to registering for classes either to complete a degree, continue their education, or transfer to a four-year institution. Serving about 3,000 each quarter, students can pursue a wide variety of interests at LTCC such as the Lake Tahoe Basin Fire Academy program and offerings in allied health, business administration, commercial music, criminal justice, digital media, and wilderness education. The college calendar is based on the quarter system, with each quarter 12 weeks long. Following the three quarters there is a six-week summer session.
APPLICATION PROCESS:
After review, suitable applicants will be invited by phone or email on or around Thursday, June 27, 2024 to participate in a skills assessment. Successful candidates will then be interviewed by a committee of approximately 3-5 individuals; these interviews are tentatively scheduled for July 8, 2024 . Meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee an interview. LTCC reserves the right to return to the applicant pool at any point during the recruitment process.
COMPENSATION:
Salary Range: LTCC offers a competitive compensation package that includes a starting placement salary of $49,376 to $54,508 annually, dependent on education and experience. There is potential to reach $63,211 annually, through step advancement plus longevity when appropriate. In addition to base salary, this position qualifies for extra bilingual (Spanish), masters or doctorate pay.
Benefits: Health and Welfare benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long term disability. Several plan options maintain a zero monthly premium cost from the employee and include full coverage of a gold-level medical plan that, on average, covers 80% of healthcare expenses for a standard population. LTCC also matches 27% of an eligible employee's salary and contributes it into a CalPERS pension account for qualifying employees. This position may qualify for the telecommute pilot program, which allows employees the opportunity to telecommute for up to 20% of the work week.
Work-Life Balance: This position is 40 hours per week and 12 months per year, including summer and winter hours. Hours are expected to be Monday-Friday, generally within the hours of 8 am to 5 pm, hours may vary according to the needs of the program. locations. This position is eligible for overtime compensation (non-exempt).
LTCC provides a generous leave package including 17 paid holidays per year plus 12 days vacation (with the potential to reach 24 days through years of service) and 12 days sick leave per year. Furthermore, LTCC has made a commitment to full closures during holiday breaks and several weekends adjoining holidays to provide employees the ability to take advantage of holiday and vacation usage.

Under the direction of an assigned Director or Administrator, perform a full range of duties with general guidelines which are specialized and more complex assignments requiring advanced skill. Position works independently, exercising judgment and initiative in performing the full range of duties assigned.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
A Specialist is trained or highly skilled in a particular subject(s). This is the second-level class in the Specialist series under general guidelines of a director or administrator within a department or division. Position performs a full range of duties with general guidelines which are specialized and more complex assignments than associated with a Specialist I, requiring advanced skill. Position works independently, exercising judgment and initiative in performing the full range of duties assigned. Impact on students, financial, physical, or personnel resources is generally department or division wide with possible external connections.
Representative Duties: Perform specialized tasks and analyze processes to support the ongoing functionalities and processes of designated area; determine and verify documents; provide upper-level information, assistance, and answer questions pertaining to complex procedures within the Department.
Plan, organize and perform a variety of administrative program support duties; establish and maintain various automated records and files; prepare and maintain reports, correspondence, memorandum, and other written documents for an assigned program; review and edit materials for accuracy; assist with special projects related to designated programs as assigned.
Serve as an area expert for program participants, students and others concerning assigned services and functions; interpret, apply, and explain program services, policies and procedures to students, staff, other schools and outside agencies.
Respond to requests for information; review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in documents and reports; provide specialized information to departments, staff and management within the scope of authority.
Interpret, apply and explain district rules, regulations, policies and procedures; evaluate and provide assistance in resolving operational and administrative problems within the scope of the position.
Assist with budgetary duties including managing and reconciling budgets; monitor expenditures; review accounts and budget reports; prepare and code purchase requisitions; complete budget transfers as necessary; order, issue and maintain department supplies.
Prepare and deliver oral presentations concerning assigned program services and related functions as assigned.
Research, gather, compile and collate statistical information and other data as directed.
Maintain current knowledge of program and organizational laws, rules, regulations and policies.
Communicate with staff, other departments and outside agencies to exchange information, resolve issues and coordinate activities.
Train and provide work direction and guidance to assigned staff and student aides as required.
Attend and participate in a variety of meetings, conferences and in-service trainings; serve as a member on committees as assigned; schedule and coordinate appointments with staff, students and faculty.
Enrollment Services Option Class: Oversee the processing of student applications and related automated communications; help verify end of term grades, make residency determinations; research problems and determine appropriate solutions; perform a variety of complex technical and clerical tasks in connection with the admission, registration, records, and student support services.
Coordinate and complete registration for special programs such as South Bay Regional Public Safety Training Consortium, Institutional Service Agreements, and other initiatives/programs; participate in various committees; assist students with scheduling appointments or other services when appropriate; assist in processing academic renewals, petitions, grade changes, and incomplete conversions; correct 1098T form errors; complete social security number and legal name changes; resolve duplicate identification numbers; research and correct enrollment errors; oversee special transactions such as sponsorships and prepaid tuition programs; develop new procedural and training documents as needed; act as the veterans certifying official; act as lead for international student application processing; manage digital student record archives; develop and maintain functional understanding of all systems used by the office such as Colleague, CCCApply, archiving software, VA-Once and web content management systems.
